IN8LOGIC's development team since 2010, and still building
IN8LOGIC is a US marketing consultancy. We have been the development team behind their client work since September 2010, which is four months before LastDoor was registered as a company. It is still running today.
- 2010the year it started
- 16years of working together
- 3of their client sites still online, since rebuilt
- Nowstill building for them
IN8LOGIC is a marketing consultancy in the United States. They do the work a consultancy does: brand, campaigns, content, and increasingly video and animation for manufacturers who want their own CAD files turned into something a buyer can watch.
What they have never had is an engineering department. That is the part we have carried.
Our Role
We are the development team their clients never meet.
A brief arrives as a design and a description of what the pages have to do. We build it, hand it back, and their name goes on it. Since 2010 nobody at the far end has needed to know we exist.
The clients behind the briefs have mostly been the ordinary businesses that keep a regional consultancy busy: water utilities serving a few thousand households, homeowners' associations, professional practices, small manufacturers. All of it had to work on the first day and keep working without anyone watching.
How We Worked
The engagements read like a history of the web, because they are one.
- Early years: straight development, building what the design said.
- 2013: a job titled "replacing Flash".
- 2014: the same sites rebuilt responsive, because phones had stopped being a consideration and become the default.
- After that: maintenance. Plugin updates, custom fields, template changes, the unglamorous half of owning a website.
Then it went quiet for a while. In September 2024 it started again. That contract is still open.
A Typical Brief
One of the water utility sites is a fair example of the whole arrangement.
The brief was a Photoshop file, a link to a site we had built for a similar client the year before, and four sentences. It asked for a large rotating image area on the home page and a map of the streets the company served.
The map mattered more than it sounds. For a water company, "do you supply my house" is the only question most visitors arrive with. A phone call answered it until the page did.
We built the theme from the PSD, made the image area work, and put the service area on a map. The company's site is still online, rebuilt since on a newer platform.
What IN8LOGIC Got
An engineering capability they did not have to hire, keep busy, or manage.
A consultancy their size cannot justify a full-time developer, but it cannot take the work without one either. Our arrangement means they quote development with the same confidence they quote strategy, and the cost only exists when the work does.
They also got continuity that outlasted the technology. The person who replaced the Flash in 2013 and the people rebuilding their work in 2024 belong to the same company. They share one record of what was built and why.
Results
Still the client, since 2010.
Three of the client sites we built are still online today, though rebuilt since on newer platforms, which is what should happen to a website after ten years. We are not claiming the code survived. We are claiming the relationship did.
It began in September 2010, four months before there was a company to put it under. Only Anchor Wave, from 2009, is older. Between them they are why white-label is how we work: everything we later built with US agencies started as an arrangement we learned here.
