TravelBase gives them a complete WordPress build with the parts every travel company needs already wired up: trips, destinations, itineraries, departures, booking, payments and search. It is a product with its own audience, not the foundation under our [travel portfolio](/industries/travel), where each site is designed and built from nothing for that operator. - Custom post types: trips, destinations, departures, team members, reviews - Himalayan Bank payment gateway (custom WooCommerce plugin) - Departure date manager (availability, seasonal pricing) - Trip filter (search by destination, duration, difficulty, altitude, price) - SEO built in (Rank Math integration, schema markup) **Why it exists.** Most of what a travel startup pays for on a first build is the booking system, and it is the part that is the same every time. Trips, departures, seasonal pricing, payments and search are solved problems, and we have solved them on 60+ sites. TravelBase lets a new operator start with that already running and spend the budget on the design and the content instead. No CMS, no database. Write in Markdown, push to Git, it is live. An estimated 100,000+ users. Shut down because it succeeded.** "Batti gayo" is Nepali for "the lights went out." During Nepal's decade-long power crisis, load shedding ran up to 16 hours per day. Battigayo was a free iOS app that tracked the government-issued load shedding schedule and sent push notifications before the power went out. It reached an estimated 100,000+ users and was covered by Nepali Times, TechSansar and DwitNews. When Nepal's power crisis ended in 2018, we retired the app: the problem it solved no longer existed. One tap to call.** A free medical directory iOS app for Kathmandu: hospital listings, a location-based nearest-hospital finder and one-tap direct calling. Like Battigayo, it was self-funded, never client work, and retired once Google Maps coverage and smartphone adoption made it redundant. **Status:** Retired and no longer on the App Store.
